Learn what your company can do to protect itself and its staff against workplace violence in a half-day seminar being presented by Guy Rossi from Homeland Security Management Institute of Monroe Community College and the Rochester Business Alliance.
Workplace violence is defined as violence or the threat of violence against workers. It can occur at or outside the workplace and can range from threats and verbal abuse to physical assaults, even homicide. However it manifests itself, workplace violence is a growing concern for employers and employees nationwide and is one of the leading causes of job-related deaths.
Participants in this workshop will review case studies and use role playing to analyze this issue, including how to recognize warning signs of violent and antisocial behaviors. They will also learn recommended methods of prevention and detection, including developing policies for managing aggressive behavior and for responding to threats and incidents.
The seminar is set for 8 a.m. to noon May 19. Cost is $95 for RBA members, $135 for others.
