The Rochester Hispanic Business Association has named R. Carlos Carballada, the City of Rochester's Commissioner of Neighborhood and Business Development, as its 2010 Hispanic Business Person of the Year.
Carballada has been an active member of the Rochester community for the last 30 years having held key posts at M&T Bank, Rochester Central Trust Co., and First National Bank of Rochester. His involvement as a business leader, work as member of countless organizations, passion for education as a NYS Regent and support of the local Hispanic community are commendable.
"RHBA is proud to recognize Carlos Carballada's many accomplishments," stated Grace Tillinghast, RHBA chair. "Carlos was not born in Rochester but made our town his home and has made significant contributions to our community and its future."
Past recipients of the Hispanic Business Person of the Year Award include Hiram Hernandez, Sr. of First Capital Payments and Jacklyn Ortiz of State Farm Insurance.
