Four Rochester companies were named recipients of the 2009 Rochester Business Ethics Awards: ConServe, Dawnbreaker, xpedx, and Parrone Engineering. The program is sponsored by the Rochester Business Alliance, the local chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and St. John Fisher College.

The awards were given Sept. 22 at a luncheon at the Riverside Convention Center, attended by nearly 450 local business people.

  • ConServe - ConServe is a financial/collection and recovery services firm specializing in higher education.
  • Dawnbreaker – Dawnbreaker is a professional services firm providing commercialization assistance to advanced technology firms.
  • xpedx – xpedx is a distributor of equipment and supplies, printing paper, facility supplies, graphic imaging supplies and related products.
  • Parrone Engineering - Parrone Engineering provides civil engineering and land surveying services.
In addition to bestowing awards, scholarships were awarded to Alfred Rabinovitch, a senior at Brighton High School, Elina Katro, a third-year business management student at St. John Fisher College, and Neil R. DeMoney, a fourt-year accounting major in the E. Philip Saunders College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Midnight Janitorial, a 2008 RBEA recipient, will receive a national 2009 American Business Ethics Award in the small company category at a ceremony and convention in Phoenix, Arizona this October.
