Rochester Business Alliance President and CEO Sandy Parker testified in Albany June 8 before the Assembly Standing Committee on Insurance. Assembly Member Joe Morelle, Chairman of the Committee, held a public hearing regarding a bill that will reinstate prior approval of health insurance premium rates.

Although the legislation is intended to address rising health insurance costs, it falls far short in enacting meaningful reforms that will lead to sustainable cost savings. Therefore, Rochester Business Alliance and the Business Council of New York State oppose the prior approval bill.
