The Rochester Business Alliance celebrated the 23rd annual Rochester Top 100 today (Nov. 5) with a crowd of more than 1,800 people at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Don Alhart of 13-WHAM News served as master of ceremonies for the program, which recognizes the fastest growing, privately held businesses in the nine-county region.

The luncheon also serves as the organization's annual meeting, and during that portion, Rochester Business Alliance leadership highlighted the organization's successes and future goals.

"I always look forward to this Top 100 event, because it gives us a chance to celebrate both the considerable accomplishments of the 2009 Rochester Top 100, and our entire business community, which has shown remarkable resiliency during the very difficult economic times of the past year," said Sandra A. Parker, president and CEO of the Rochester Business Alliance in her remarks

Parker cited the Rochester Business Alliance's work on health care, as well as its continued leadership in the Unshackle Upstate coalition. She said the coalition will continue to advocate for reduced state spending and lower taxes, which are among the highest in the nation.

"We will keep pushing our message forward in 2010, as we transform Unshackle Upstate into a grassroots taxpayers' movement through an aggressive social media campaign," Parker said. "Look for our message on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media channels. Helping you, the voters and taxpayers, to become more actively engaged on the issues will be essential as we move toward the important 2010 elections for governor and all seats in the state Legislature."

Parker also highlighted the Rochester Business Alliance's member services, including networking events such as Business After Hours and Coffee with the CEO, as well as training services, forums and business information. And she announced that the highly successful Meet the Top 100 programs will be continue with visits in 2010 to Calvary Automation Systems, Gorbel, Inc., Printing Methods,Inc. Rochester Precision Optics, LLC Wright Wisner Distributing Corp. and Bergmann Associates.
