Question: Tell me briefly about Rel Comm.
Murray: Rel Comm is a provider of telecommunications/data network systems for government, education and business. The company was formed 21 years ago and currently has offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Raleigh, NC.
We currently rank in the top 10 dealers nationwide for Inter-Tel, a leading telecommunications manufacturer. We also are one of the leading Nortel dealers in the area.

Question: Where are most of your clients based?
Murray: The majority of our clients are in the Western New York area with the highest concentration in greater Rochester.

Question: What differentiates Rel Comm from its competitors?
Murray: Rel Comm is a highly technical company that can deliver advanced VOIP/ TDM solutions at extremely competitive rates. We focus on the continuous education of our employees to maintain a high level of technical expertise in our field.

Question: What does it mean to your business to be on the Top 100?
Murray: For Rel Comm, the ability to achieve the status of one of Rochester's Top 100 companies on an annual basis shows that our company is progressing in a positive growth pattern and is a productive member of the Rochester community. It is truly a great distinction!

Question: What value do you find in your Rochester Business Alliance membership?
Murray: The Rochester Business Alliance is a great asset to this community and our membership has allowed Rel Comm to take advantage of affiliate resources we would normally not have available to us.

Question: What are the best things about doing business in Rochester?
Murray: As a company we have established and enjoyed many long term relationships with our customers.

Rochester has a well educated work force that has enabled Rel Comm to compete against much larger competitors and allowed us to substantially grow as a result of these relationships. We have, and continue to, support many of Rochester's non-profit orgnaizations either through donations or discounted systems and service/support of thier telecommunition systems. Some of our long term customers include the Salvation Army, Volunteers of America, YWCA, the Arts & Cultural Council of Rochester, the Bivona Child Advocacy Center and the entire Hillside Children's Center organization, to name a few.

Question: What advice do you have for someone starting a small/new business here?
Murray:Be patient, work hard, be persistent. Always do the right thing and go the extra mile for your customer.
