We asked Mr. Timothy Williams, president, to talk about his business.

Question: Tell me briefly about PICS Telecom Corporation.
Williams: PICS Telecom is the leading provider of Investment Recovery services for the telecommunications industry. We specialize in obtaining new and used surplus telecommunications equipment from our Investment Recovery Partners and selling it to service providers around the world.

Question: How has your company sustained continual growth?
Williams: We recognized early in our companies history that a total commitment to quality service and products was going to separate us from most of the competition. In addition, we established a pretty sound business model when we formed the company and have consistently followed that blueprint for the last fifteen years.

Question: What does it mean to your business to be recognized by the Rochester Business Alliance as one of Rochester's Top 100 Companies?
Williams: We are very proud to be ranked in the Rochester's Top 100. The telecom industry is incredibly strong in Rochester and it is a natural fit for us to be a part of that expansion.

Question: What additional services can the Rochester Business Alliance provide to help your business?
Williams: Much of our current and future growth is coming from the international market. Any opportunities to accelerate that growth with better business data would be invaluable. We can always use help wading through the different import/export rules for each country.

Question: What signs of optimism do you see in the local economy?
Williams: The number of new faces each year in Rochester's Top 100 indicates the Rochester business community is quite dynamic. If the local and state government can reduce the tax burden, we have the talent to grow the economy. Look at the success the University of Rochester has had in many different parts of our community, in particular the spin offs from their technology research.

Question: What trends are you seeing among your customers in terms of preferences?
Williams: Our industry is becoming much more technology driven as the telephony business has blended with the IT sector. Our clients are investing in equipment to deliver "Triple Play" and VOIP solutions as quickly as possible.
