Former Industrial Management Council president Arthur E. Aspengren died last week at 74. He served as President of the IMC (now RBA) from February 1, 1992 to January 15, 1999.
Aspengren was born in Coloma, MI and grew up in Watervliet, MI, until he left to attend Ohio University (Athens, OH) on a football scholarship. After completing a Masters Degree he then served three years in the U.S. Air Force as a navigator; Honorable Discharge with rank of Captain. He began his successful business career with General Motors and concluded his career as President of the IMC.
Sandy Parker, CEO of the Rochester Business Alliance remembers Aspengren as "a wonderful friend and mentor. He taught me many sound business principles and people which have helped me in leading the Rochester Business Alliance."
He is survived by Donna, his devoted wife of nearly 52 years, five daughters, his mother, sister, and many friends and relatives.
