How to Keep Employees Engaged when "Life Happens" At any given point, approximately 55% of the American workforce is "not engaged," according to a Gallup poll. Changes at home and in the organization highly contribute to the level of engagement. If an employee is not engaged in their work, we see lowered productivity, decreased creativity and adaptability and higher rates of absenteeism and turnover. The factors that impact engagement are varied, however two areas tend to rank the highest; family/personal issues and poor relationships with a supervisor and/or co-workers.
