| Description | GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Works as a weld technician within the production-welding department. Uses acetylene, oxygen and other cylinders, and torch and portable or fixed Mig/Tig welding equipment. Wears protective hood, gloves, goggles, etc. Assembles and fits parts to welding jigs, knows expansion characteristics and applies heat and/or welding rod accordingly. Makes neat approved welds with all parts meeting specified dimensions. May acquire ability to make decision on correct gas mixture, electric control setting and rod sizes. Minimum Qualifications · Two years minimum experience in production welding environment. · Successfully complete in-house welding test · Ability to read and understand blueprints at an advanced level .Own tools required Specific Duties: 1. Perform Mig/Tig/Stick welding as instructed in a cosmetically satisfactory manner 2. Maintain customer drawings/prints in original condition. 3. Check and verify part numbers prior to assembly of product to customer specifications 4. Notify supervisor of part shortages BEFORE PART RUNS OUT This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary. Conditions of Employment · It is the responsibility of the welding technician to produce a quality product. · Welder identification stamps must be used by each welder technician (see attached instruction sheet) · All welder technicians are required to have his/her own tools as listed below.
